About Afri-Can FoodBasket:The Afri-Can FoodBasket is a community based non-profit organization that has been at the forefront of championing Food Justice and Food Sovereignty for Toronto’s African, Caribbean, Black (ACB) community since 1995. In light of COVID-19’s impact on our communities, they have launched a food sovereignty initiative that will support members of the African, Caribbean, Black (ACB) community to access fresh produce during the COVID-19 Pandemic. They have provided over 300 households with fresh produce at no cost.
About Bklyn Boihood: Bklyn Boihood started in Bedford Stuyvesant in 2009, with two friends, a couch and a desire to feel seen and understood as masculine-of-center queer and trans people of color. With a mission to create spaces for Black, Brown Queer and Trans bois* and our communities, they host critical workshops, bike rides (Different Gear, a qtpoc cycling series), annual retreats, camping trips, and parties so these communities can cultivate stories, dreams and creative work. Last couple of months, they have moved to virtual community events like Joy Party BK to connect, inspire, and bring joy to their communities.
